Summer Fayre 2011
Held in the garden of College Fields the fete is an occasion when residents, their friends and families, members of staff and neighbours and families of ‘old’ residents come together to enjoy themselves.
These photographs, and the ones in the special page, show how everyone both young and not so young enjoyed the day.
These two young children show how the face painting was a big hit and Gordon in his blue tee shirt and rather fashionable hat gives a flavour of the ‘buzz’ at the home.
The grounds were set out ready for any weather that could be thrown at us and in the event it was mainly sunshine. It would be a brave person who would have judged the most successful stand! They were all popular from the burger bar to the cake stall, name the dog, bric a brac, jewellery, unique bags, amazing cakes that were auctioned, tombola and sweet stall.
The money raised, over £750 will be used for the benefit of residents. Each year money raised has enabled residents irrespective of personal circumstances to enjoy outings. This will continue but this year the fayre’s proceeds will be put towards the latest state of the art syringe driver. Special thanks are due to members of staff who gave their free time to come and support the residents.
