College Fields wins the ‘Vale in Bloom’ 2008 Award.

The garden at the home had a makeover earlier in the year. Two members of staff,  Melissa and Ann decided to undertake the project with the financial support of the ‘Friends of College Fields’.

The intention was to create an improved environment for residents to enjoy. Not only were there to be beautiful flowers and fruit but the added interest of a herb garden and a sensory area.

In the collage of photographs are some of the early ones of putting together the ‘ground work’ and some of the finished garden with nectarines, grape vine and the seating areas. All the garden is accessible by wheelchair so residents and others can enjoy it to the full.
